TV was invented at the beginning of the 20th century. A system of coloured television of electronic type was developed in the 50s in the USA, Russia and then in other countries.
Nowadays TV plays an important role in people’s life. Usually people watch TV to learn the latest interesting world news. Television is very popular among the young persons.
There are many interesting and popular television programmes on TV. For example, programmes devoted to the social problems. It can be very useful to watch such programmes, because different problems and different points of view are described there. Television programmes about animals are very popular too. Teenagers like the reality shows very much. People acting in this kind of shows are usually also young. That’s why reality shows are usually popular among young adults.
Despite the fact that watching TV is very interesting, some scientists believe that it can be harmful. They consider TV to be very violent and cruel for children psychology. And they believe that instead of communicating each other, the whole family sits glued to the TV-set.
Nevertheless millions of people are watching TV every day. They watch it to be well informed and sometimes just to relax.
